JiggleBilly

JiggleBilly is a 4 piece string band hailing from the mountains of western Maryland. Founded by Briana Merkel, the group came together in the winter of 2019 and made their debut in July 2020 at southwestern Pennsylvania’s Grass in the Glades festival. They have been working towards their common goal of bringing Appalachian Roots music to the forefront ever since. Comprised of songwriter Briana Merkel on guitar and vocals, mandolinist Dave Williams aka Dave Dub (a founding member of Grand Ole’ Ditch), Heather Twigg (formerly of The Fly Birds and Crandall Creek and a Maryland State fiddle champion) on fiddle and vocals, and a rotating cast of bassists including Chris Bern (also a member of The Cooley Gang), Byrne Klay (of Megan Jean’s Secret Family), Trish Imbrogno (of the Jakob’s Ferry Stragglers and Sweaty Already String Band), and Trae Buckner (The Hillbilly Biscuits), the group has a broad range of musical experience. Combining their talents, they’ve created a unique sound all their own. A mix of originals meshed with traditional and non-traditional covers keeps things interesting for band members and audiences alike. JiggleBilly is currently working on their first album and playing shows and festivals throughout Maryland, West Virginia, and Pennsylvania, always ready to commence the Jigglin’!
